Andries has been married to Phume since 2002 and has one daughter, Angel Rethabile. He ministered as an ordained pastor in the Reformed Evangelical Anglican Church of South Africa in Durban CBD for 6 years and later in Durban Upper-­Highway District for 2 years as a rector of three churches. He joined the JBC staff team un 2011 as a Senior Lecturer who taught and served as part of the leadership in Auckland Park and Soweto. He is currently serving as a Dean based in Soweto. Recreationally enjoys watching NASCAR, F1 Grand Prix, rugby, cricket, hockey, athletics and soccer. He is a staunch supporter of Orlando Pirates FC, Chelsea FC & FC Barcelona. Finally, he is an avid reader.
